Last year my daughter had a glow birthday party. It was so much fun! I decided I would share with you all the things we did and bought to put together her glow in the dark birthday party. You will find lots of tips on How to Plan a Glow in the Dark Party and make it successful without spending a lot of money.
The Basics
First, I will talk about the Glow in the Dark Birthday Party invitations. I bought mine on Etsy. Etsy has so many options, it’s crazy! I thought I would make it easy for you and share my choice. You can also find a few freebies out there too, like this one. Make sure to remind everyone to wear neon colors and or white.
Besides cake and other goodies, you are going to need a black light. This is the one I bought on Amazon for my daughter’s birthday party. It worked out perfectly! We set it up in the corner of a large room (I rented a space for her party). It worked out great! The kids had so much fun playing in the dark.
Make sure you have a mirror so they can look at there glowing selves. Since we were in a rented space, I brought along a cheap full-length mirror.
Things you may want to Buy for the Party
My number one favorite thing we bought was glow face paint pens. These were so fun to use and the kids loved them! They chose the face paint style they wanted and my husband painted it. A few of the kids did their own. This is where the mirror comes in. they will love seeing their glowing face paint!
Glow bracelets. We actually did not buy this. My husband’s niece had a bunch left over from a company Christmas party. You want to buy a lot of these. We made them into bracelets and necklaces, but later the kids made a big chain with them.
We also got a bunch of Glow Foam Sticks. The girls had fun using these like lightsabers. We also got these free from my husband’s niece.
I ordered some cute Hawaiian leis with bright colors to show up under the blacklight.
This is all we bought for my daughter’s 6th Birthday Party and everyone had a blast. We played music and just let the girls play with the glow stuff.
