Welcome to day 26 of 31 Awesome Days of Fall Activities with your Kids. This post will show you How to Make Easy DIY Pumpkin Slime With Your Kids at home.
Slime Popularity
Slime is a pretty popular item these days, especially DIY slime at home. My daughter and I have made this slime recipe several times (minus the pumpkin) and she will usually play with it for a couple of hours after we make it.
Making Slime is a Great Project
We love doing projects or activities during the weekend. It’s a fun way to bond and let my daughter show her creativity while learning!
Slime Activity
Making slime is one of my daughter’s favorite activities we do together. I think she enjoys the feel of it between her fingers and this pumpkin slime has the best sensory play. She said it felt so weird! She will set at the table and play with slime for hours. Sometimes she will get some of her small plastic toys and have them join in on the slime fun.
TIP: When you make your slime, make sure your work surface is covered with a tablecloth. Slim is sticky and may leave a sticky residue behind. You may also put an apron on your child or put them in old play clothes

- Sensory play
Supplies
- 3/4 cup liquid starch
- 1/2 cup Clear Elmer’s glue
- 1/2 cup water
- Pumpkin – seeds and guts. I probably used half a cup.
- measuring cup
- a bowl
- airtight container – you really can’t keep this more than a day or two. Just have fun with it.
- craft stick or spoon for stirring
Directions
- Mix the water and glue in a bowl until blended well.
- Slowly add the liquid starch until slime thickens. It will stick to your craft stick/ spoon and pull away from the bowl. It will also be stretchy.
- Mix in the pumpkin seeds and guts. Use as much or as little as you want.
