So you want to know how to make perfect easy to peel hard-boiled eggs every time? Not long after our chickens started laying eggs, I was on a mission to create the perfect easy to peel hard-boiled eggs. It’s pretty simple, and only takes just a few things; eggs, water, ice, slotted spoon or strainer, pot for boiling, and a bowl.
When we have an abundance of fresh eggs, which happens quite often when the days are longer in Spring and Summer, I will make deviled eggs. I will usually prepare them and refrigerate for later. We will have them as a side dish with meals. Sometimes I may grab one or two for a snack. My youngest daughter does not like deviled eggs, so I will keep back a couple of the egg whites for her, and she will just eat them plain. That works out great for all of us, it leaves extra yolk stuffing for the rest of the eggs.
TIP: If your eggs do not sink to the bottom of the water, they are not fresh. If they point up or float, they are not fresh. You can still use them, but they won’t taste as good as fresh eggs.
TIP: For a good low boil, I usually turn the heat to a 4 or 5.
